Bear Country Inn
Bear Country Inn & Suites , which is part of The Barn Store, is a small, third-generation, family-run business that employs local students and young adults for the busy summertime season. The family and employees enjoy meeting and serving people from all over the world, and hope everyone feels welcome in our little beautiful corner of the world. The Owner, Jeff Uibel, is a semi-retired Mechanical Engineer who was born in the United States, and raised in the small community of Mountain View, Alberta Canada. His grandfather Uibel immigrated to Southern Alberta from Germany.
Family-owned and operated, Caribou Clothes began as a very small enterprise, manufacturing sheepskin coats and accessories in Vancouver, B.C. in 1970. In 1974, we constructed a factory in Mountain View, Alberta, Canada, for making sheepskin and leather items. For several years we made coats and accessories for the wholesale market as well as for our own retail locations. Our coats were sold in various stores throughout western Canada and in the United States. We also exported them to Japan for several years. In 2002, we discontinued our coat production, but continue to provide hand-made slippers, mitts and hats.
Big Scoop Ice Cream
Eating an ice cream cone can evoke good memories for all. For many, it brings to mind hot summer days and sticky fingers, sitting on a bench on Waterton’s main street, eating a heaping helping of Heavenly Hash ice cream. A Big Scoop ice cream cone has become a tradition for generations of Waterton visitors. Their 32 delicious flavor options sitting on top of fresh, handmade waffle cones make it easy to see why. If you are looking for other delicious treats, Big Scoop also offers over 20 flavors of decadent, homemade fudge, creamy milkshakes, sundaes, and frozen yogurt.
Testimonial For Waterton Accommodations
“This motel was clean and cozy and the internet worked woohoo! Lots of families with kids and dogs staying at the motel, which was fun. Walking distance to everything in the town. Not on the lake but I would definitely stay at Bear Mountain again.“
